The Story
Christa and Alex’s home was a small orange-brick house with three bedrooms, one bathroom and almost no storage. They loved the street, and after looking at moving and at a knockdown rebuild, they chose to stay and build the home they needed where they already lived.
We added a full second storey, carried on structural steel installed into the first-floor beam structure and tied back into the original house. The whole home was renovated. The kitchen and laundry were rebuilt from scratch, the bathroom was renovated, and the master bedroom was rethought with a new walk-in robe. New hallway linen cabinetry fixed the storage problem, a custom staircase connects the original footprint to the new level, and the original Tasmanian oak floors were resanded and kept.
Outside, the new upper level is clad in James Hardie Axon and the existing brickwork was finished in textured render, so the home reads as one cohesive house. The family lived in the house through the early demolition, then moved out for the main build.
Client Testimonial
We looked at moving, at a knockdown rebuild, but we loved where we were. Finding a builder we could trust was the biggest concern, with everything you hear about companies going under. From the first day, we knew we'd made the right choice.
You worked with our budget honestly, found alternatives when something was out of reach, and your boys were respectful, on time, and always here. Now we drive down the street and people don't recognise it was ever the same house. We've achieved exactly what we set out to do, in the area we wanted to stay in.

Craftsmanship & Build Process
Christa and Alex’s biggest concern was finding a builder they could trust. We were upfront about the numbers from day one, found another way whenever something they wanted was out of reach, and guided them through the architectural design, the contract and the permits, all of which were new to them.
If you’re planning a renovation or extension in Blackburn or nearby, it starts with a conversation. From there, our Professional Builder Service properly assesses your site and brief, so you get a number you can actually rely on before you sign anything.
