The Story
Megan and Glen’s home was a classic older brick house with good bones, but the layout felt squeezed. The kitchen sat in a tight corner, and there was no real connection between the living spaces or out to the backyard. They had never renovated before and wanted a builder who could guide them through it. Their brief was simple: open the home up and make it somewhere they’d happily spend the rest of their lives.
The enclosed spaces came out completely, and the back of the home was rebuilt around one connected kitchen, dining and living area, with a new alfresco extension opening onto the yard. The new roof was hand-pitched on site with no off-the-shelf trusses, rising to a 4.5-metre raked ceiling, with structural steel craned into place to carry the open span. Skylights carry light deep into the space, and wide stacker doors open it straight onto the alfresco.
Out front, an oversized pivot entry door and James Hardie Axon cladding give the home a strong new street presence, and the character of the original brick build stays.
Client Testimonial
This was Megan and Glen's first time taking on a renovation, and it changed the entire footprint of their Croydon home. A new roof, a new floor, new bathrooms, and the bedrooms reconfigured front to back, all opened into one living space that flows straight through to the alfresco.
Having real-time visibility into every stage through our client portal meant they were never left guessing what came next. In their own words, the trades were polite, clean and tidy, and the process led them in the right direction from day one.

Craftsmanship & Build Process
Megan and Glen had never renovated before, so they wanted a builder who could guide them and explain what was possible. We worked through the design with them until they were truly happy with it. We then worked closely with their interior designer on the selections, so the finishes and the architecture work together.
