The Story
Set in one of Melbourne's bayside suburbs, this custom home was built around light, space and the way a young family actually lives day to day. The exterior pairs bagged brickwork with James Hardie Axon cladding for a façade that's both distinctive and built to handle coastal weather.
Inside, four-metre raked ceilings and five skylights carry natural light deep into the main living areas, while floor-to-ceiling glazing opens the kitchen, dining and living zones onto the courtyard and pool. Herringbone timber floors and premium joinery run throughout, giving the open-plan layout a warmth that holds up whether it's a quiet Tuesday or a full house.
Every bathroom was finished with custom vanities and considered tilework, and the same attention carried through to the bedroom wings, where the main suite sits apart from the secondary rooms for a bit of separation when the house is full.
Craftsmanship & Build Process
From early planning to the final walkthrough, this Brighton home reflects how every Hudson project runs: close coordination with architects and suppliers, clear communication with the clients, and a build finished to the same standard at handover as it was on paper.
